Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Kabul

Arrive in Kabul and meet our team for a welcome and tour briefing at the hotel. You will be given an Afghan traditional outfit to blend in with locals and enjoy a more authentic experience. Visit Bibi Mahru Hill for panoramic city views, explore the lively Kabul Bird Market, stroll through the historic Babur Gardens, and visit the National Museum of Afghanistan to discover the country’s rich history.

Drive from Kabul to Bamyan through the scenic central highlands. Visit the Buddha Niches and explore the ancient ruins of Shahr-e Zuhak (Red City) and Shahr-e Gholghola (City of Screams), dramatic reminders of Bamyan’s historical past.

Visit Bamyan Bazaar and a viewpoint overlooking the Buddha Niches before heading to Band-e Amir National Park. Explore the stunning deep-blue lakes, famous for their natural beauty and tranquil setting, before returning to Bamyan.

Drive back to Kabul and visit the British Cemetery, followed by time in Chicken Street, once a famous stop on the Hippie Trail and now a great place for souvenirs. Stop at the well-known bookstore featured in The Bookseller of Kabul.

Depart early for a day trip to Ghazni, once the capital of the powerful Ghaznavid Empire. Visit the iconic Minarets of Ghazni, the historic Ghazni Fortress (Citadel), and the Shrine of Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni, an important figure in regional Islamic history. After exploring the city’s medieval heritage, return to Kabul, where the tour concludes.
